July 1, 2025 1:02 AM (GMT+2) She suddenly disappeared, see Mary Matthew Jones (Marion Marigold) for more info.

Theory: joined / was abducted by RLCF "The Children of Black Water"?? Definitely must have something to do with her political views.

July 20, 2025 12:28 AM (GMT+2) I’ve been slacking off a lot on updating this mystery, but that’s because nothing is clear to me yet. I’ve garnered quite a lot of pieces of what seems like a huge puzzle, but I cannot quite fit them yet. Of most importance is the information from the red letters (see 4th red letter and 7th red letter), of which I presume I’m missing 5 still.

Some of the things that are very clear to me:

I’m not sure what to make out of News about “A new clue”. I guess I need to read the book to understand. I can purchase it in the Bookshop if I get the chance (see Books available for purchase).

July 24, 2025 12:22 AM (GMT+2) According to Note from Mary about crossing a border, she used not one but multiple fake passports, and she went to live to a different country to “start fresh”. She seemed thankful for everything Herbert S. Sinclair did for her and lamented not being able to repay him.

It also seems she was not alone, since she mentions “it would be too risky if we were searched at the border”. Who was she with? Potentially other members of RLCF "The Children of Black Water"? To me, Herbert’s freezer letter pretty much confirms that my initial theory that she was part of that group is true, and it seems she was not abducted, but joined them willingly. To fight against the status quo, against the royalists. Against the “red”.

That letter also mentions that the blue crown was somehow involved in all of this. I hope that by reaching The 46th room again I can get more information about it.

Further information in that letter is that Herbert was somehow getting information about Mary and has reasons to believe she’s still alive. It seems he could’ve gotten in trouble by obtaining this info.

July 24, 2025 1:28 AM (GMT+2) The Hundred Bells note is really suspicious. That’s where Mary was last seen at 3:45pm. There’s a scribble on it that says “Sandy heights 5pm”, which is quite close to that time. Also note that Sandy Heights was the drop-off address for the illegal moonshine delivery that Christoph and Denny Revane did, which seems like an odd coincidence (see Note about drop-off address). I don’t believe Herbert S. Sinclair knew about that, though.

July 24, 2025 2:09 AM (GMT+2) If it wasn’t obvious enough already, the Ending cinematic makes it abundantly clear that she had strong political ideas and participated in political activism.

July 27, 2025 3:15 AM (GMT+2) It’s possible that she is the one who stole The Ruby Crown in the Royal Museum Heist.

August 3, 2025 4:27 PM (GMT+2) The Crown of the Blueprints seems like a clear confirmation of that previous theory to me.

August 16, 2025 12:11 PM (GMT+2) The 2nd red letter and Letter about the museum heist are irrefutable evidence that she did in fact steal the crown, together with Caleb Manning and Farro. It also confirms she was part of RLCF "The Children of Black Water". I’ve updated Royal Museum Heist to include all this info.

August 16, 2025 12:30 PM (GMT+2) According to 6th red letter, she “followed the steps of her father” (Simon H. Sinclair). This also ties in with Letter about the museum heist where it ends by saying “may our fathers be proud”. Perhaps RLCF "The Children of Black Water" were all children of political activists.

Additionally, that letter suggests that if everything went according to plan, Mary was only supposed to be gone for 2 years, until I was 10 years old. This ties in perfectly with I was born and Disappearance of Mary being exactly 8 years apart.

The letter also mentions “the days pass by more quickly in the east”. Could this be a clue for where she went? However, up until now I heavily believed she went towards the north, due to the heavy association of Room 46 and the north, plus “ovinn nevarei” (towards the north, there’s a new future) (see The 46th room and Unknown language (Erajan?)). Not to say that there’s no border to the east of Fenn Aries, however there is to the north (where Arch Aries is). Unless she went by boat all the way to Corarica.
