July 24, 2025 1:06 AM (GMT+2) According to Herbert’s freezer letter, the message has a “double entendre”, and “only by deciphering the many meanings of the 44-character message, can you hope to unlock its many mysteries”.

I’ve thought about it for a while and I’m honestly at a loss, I cannot think of any way to interpret the message other than literally.

August 16, 2025 6:33 PM (GMT+2) Turns out this is in reference to the way you can figure out some of the safe combinations. For example, the one in the Drafting Studio requires counting the number of small gates. The one in the Drawing Room requires counting small “gaits” (which sounds like “gates”). However, there’s other completely unrelated codes such as the one in the Study or the Boudoir. In any case, now I have an idea of what Herbert meant in his letter, so I’ll consider this mystery solved.
